Staffing Opportunities

If you or someone you know would be a good fit for one of these roles, please consider serving at Camps with Meaning.   If you have an idea about how you could serve that isn’t listed here, let us know!  Your gifts could be used at camp.

Support Staff: The people who volunteer the time in roles such as Health Officer (RN, Paramedic, MD), maintenance staff, kitchen staff, and/or camp pastors help to keep camp running.  Without our volunteers, camp simply couldn’t happen.  Please consider spending a week at camp in one of these roles.  Volunteer applications are available here.

Teen Volunteers (TV): If you have completed Grade 9, we invite you to join our TV program.  As a TV, you will be part of the staff team responsible for running Day Camp at Camp Assiniboia.  This is great way to get some experience with working with children!  TV applications are available here.

Servant Leader in Training (SLT): If you have completed Grade 10 or 11, please consider being a part of our SLT Program.  You’ll get a week of training (aka bonding, fun, learning), an out-trip experience in the Turtle Mountains, and 2 weeks of supervised experience.  This is great way to start off your camp career!  SLT applications are available here.

Counselors and/or Activity Leaders:  These positions are perfect for people who have completed the Servant Leader in Training (SLT) Program or Grade 12.  Experience working with children, youth, and/or adults with disabilities is a great strength, but you’ll also receive training so you’ll feel totally equipped for your summer of service.   Staff applications are available here.

As a counsellor, you will be responsible for a group of 8 campers and ensure they experience fun and safety throughout the day at activities, in the evening, and overnight.

As an activity leader, you will be responsible for teaching campers how to do one of the following activities:  archery, horses, boardsailing, kayaking, swimming (must possess current certification), high ropes, and ziplining (must possess belaying/high ropes certification – ask about how you can get certified!).

Summer Leaders:  These are roles for mature and qualified individuals who have a lot of experience working with children and youth and/or in positions of leadership.  Positions Include: Summer Program Directors, Nature Instructors, Bible Instructors, Integration Coordinator, Servant Leader in Training (SLT) Directors, Special Programs Director, Day Camp Assistant Director/Bible Instructor.  Applications available here.

Applications and Interviews:

If you are interested call for more details or send in your completed application form as soon as possible.   You will be contacted by the office upon receiving your application.  Interviews will take place in the spring.  Please direct all inquiries to (204) 895-2267 or camps@mennochurch.mb.ca.
