The Camp Moose Lake (CML) Picnic Shelter represented a beautiful, grass-roots fundraising project in 2008. Donors gave $50/peg, for the construction of this fantastic timber frame structure. It was well used, particularly by the Adults with Disabilities (ADV) campers, when the bugs or weather made it otherwise difficult to be outside.

When CML was sold in 2017, the commitment was made to keep the structure as a symbol of the time and resources CML supporters put into that camp. It took until January 2019 to find the right movers, and in the meanwhile, a generous donor originally from the Steinbach area, stepped up to help fund the costly move.

The shelter will continue to serve children and ADV campers, nestled in the big trees at Camp Assiniboia.
