Download the “Koinonia Seasonal Operation”. pdf

Mennonite Church Manitoba has been in a process over the past several years to address
changes in their camping ministry. A decision has been made to reduce our overall
capacity by offering the ownership and operation of Camp Koinonia and Camp Moose Lake
to new persons or groups.
Because of this ongoing process, uncertainty for staffing, and other operating realities,
Mennonite Church Manitoba has decided not to operate Camp Koinonia through the rental
season of 2014 to 2015. Camp Koinonia will be closed for rentals beginning in September
2014, and will reopen in May 2015, accommodating a few rental groups before hosting
summer camp in July & August. Camp Moose Lake will operate status quo for the time
being.
We are grateful for our many rental guests who have used the facilities at Camp Koinonia,
and we recognize that this closure may be both an inconvenience and a loss for some. As
the ownership model for Camp Koinonia changes, it is quite possible that these facilities
may once again be available for rentals in the future. We will try to accommodate as many
guests as possible at Camp Moose Lake and Camp Assiniboia through this winter. Where
we are not able to accommodate, we can offer suggestions for other possible rental
locations in Manitoba.
If you have questions about this, please contact our camp office (204) 895-2267 or email
